Complete CLT-Facility for LOC Holz
Loc Holz Enters the CLT Market
Kallesoe Machinery and System TM have designed, produced, and installed a huge Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) production facility for the newly established Austrian company, LOC Holz GmbH located in Arbing OÖ. The three CEOs Joseph Lauss, Rudolph Ortner, and Jan Walter Cappelen have great ambitions for their joined venture, and as Ortner has stated:
“We want to play to our strengths in the Cross-laminated timber and modular construction area. Just like in the sawmill, here too we will offer the highest possible quality products made from regional raw materials at reasonable prices”.
LOC Holz’s New Production Facility
LOC Holz’s brand-new solution consists of a sorting and finger jointing line by System TM combined with innovative CLT handling and pressing solutions with state-of-the-art production equipment from Kallesoe Machinery.
The Kallesoe Q-press is an extremely quick radio frequency press, which will be used to produce the cross layers needed to manufacture cross-laminated timber (CLT).
Kallesoe’s massive CLT press is used to press the longitudinal lamellas and the transverse layer to the final CLT panel.
LOC Holz estimates that their production will reach approximately 45.000m³ of CLT in Arbing OÖ. The cross-laminated timber plant will create 70 jobs for the region in the short term and 100 in the medium term. The entire project has a total investment volume of 45 Mio. €.
LOC Holz initiated their production in the Fall of 2022, and we were there for the celebration of their very first Master Panel which can be seen in the pictures below.
